Adolescent Services & SBHCs

Our sponsor, Memorial Medical Center/LifePoint, supports Adolescent Services which runs School-Based Health Centers in four of the high schools in Doña Ana County.  Using our telemedicine system, residents see patients in each of the four high schools during their continuity clinic time.  Many of the students seen in these clinics become patients of our Family Medicine center and attend our Adolescent Clinic which occurs each afternoon. The Adolescent Clinic has an integrated behavioral component and is attended by our psychologists as well as the Family Medicine attendings. The curriculum focuses on adolescent general health and health education, psycho-social health, and teen pregnancy.
