General Information
Thank you for your interest in our Family Medicine Residency Program in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Below, please find the requirements for our program:
- Current ECFMG certification
- Pass USMLE Step I, Step II CK, CS, and TOEFL (if needed) to meet the state criteria for licensure in New Mexico. No minimum score is required, but we do not consider applicants who have not passed by their 3rd attempt.
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- New Mexico uses the California Medical Board list of approved schools. Please verify that your school is listed on this list as an approved school.
- Experience working in the U.S. in a clinical setting (minimum of one year)
- Must have graduated from medical school no longer than 5 years ago
- Must be able to demonstrate a true commitment to family medicine
- Meeting the above criteria will not guarantee you an interview. We look at the overall application and how each applicant will fit into our program. Feel free to tour the rest of our website.
