HIV & Hepatitis C Services

The residency works closely with the Department of Health and the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine to care for a large number of patients with Hepatitis C and HIV infection.  We provide comprehensive primary care to these individuals which includes the active management of their illnesses.  We utilize the ECHO (see Telehealth Services) telemedicine speciality clinc services each week to aid in the care of the difficult-to-manage patients.  During their training the residents will manage a number of these patients and will gain expertise in the management of these infections.
